Merconet levert diverse optische communicatiesets. Hiermee wordt full-duplex tussen twee monteurs gecommuniceerd door middel van headsets. Dit is ideaal bij het installeren en onderhouden van glasvezelnetwerken. De OP70 hebben een automatische volumeregeling. Het communiceren over glasvezelnetwerken biedt een aantal voordelen ten opzichte van bijvoorbeeld een draadloos systeem: de communicatieafstand is zeer lang, er kan niet afgeluisterd worden wanneer bijvoorbeeld wachtwoorden worden door-gegeven en er is geen storend veld (EMI/RFI). Tevens kunnen deze sets permanent ingezet worden in een vaste opstelling. De OP70 is in diverse uitvoeringen leverbaar, zie hiervoor de specificaties. De communicatiesets zijn modern vormgegeven en uiterst compact.

The OP70 is a reliable alternative to wireless communications systems used within a premise environment due to its electromagnetic immunity. We designed the OP70 to be economical in order to be sold as an alternative to walkie-talkies. Optionally, they can be embedded as a permanent part of a fiber network installation. Use it during the installation for end-to-end voice communications. After installation leave it attached to a pair of dark fibers inside the fiber patch panel. This way, the OP70 can be used by information Technology (I.T.) personnel for talking over any time operations or management functions need to be done in the fiber cable closet.
